Brush

Real Techniques Powder Brush & Blush Brush Review

Selasa, Agustus 28, 2012

Are you searching for brushes with good quality and unique? Are you bored with that usual black glossy handle brush? If yes, here is an alternative for you: Real Techniques brushes by Samantha Chapman. I owned the powder brush and blush brush.

Powder Brush

Evenly apply powders and mineral foundations for smooth, high-definition results:
  • look pixel-perfect even in harsh light
  • ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free
  • self-standing for easy storage
  • extended aluminum handle is light and easy to use

Blush Brush

Contour and define cheeks for flawlessly blended, high-definition results:
  • look pixel-perfect even in harsh light
  • ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free
  • self-standing for easy storage
  • extended aluminum handle is light and easy to use
(taken from www.realtechniques.com)

The powder brush has that yellow metallic handle while the blush brush has pink metallic handle. If I'm not mistaken, for face brush, the handles are all in yellow colour, for finishing brush in pink colour and for eye brush in purple colour. So no more that monotone black handle for all brushes :D

Printed there: Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman.

I love these brushes. They work well for their job. Each brush has perfect density for its bristle and there is no single shed even from the first washing. Pretty cool right? :D The brush is so soft, I like to touch them and I like the feeling on my face too. :3

I use the powder brush for applying loose powder, and sometimes for pact too while the blush brush for applying blush and bronzer. I like the shape of the blush brush, it's easier for contouring.

I am really satisfied with these brushes and so far I don't have any cons for them. I'm looking forward to try out other brushes from Real Techniques, especially the expert face brush.

I got this brushes from Reine Doll Shop , make sure to check out their shop.

Thanx for reading, girls and see you on my next post ^^

Circle Lens

Pandora Vanilla Shake Grey Review

Kamis, Agustus 23, 2012

Have you ever heard about this lens? It's called Pandora and this series is called Vanilla Shake. The name sounds cute right? :3

The lens box is in pink colour and at the top and bottom part, it also has polkadot pattern. It comes in blister type, not bottle.

Pandora Vanilla Shake Specification:
Diameter: 19.50mm
B.C. 8.60
Water content: 52%
Duration: 6-12 month
Origin: China

Those are the advertising pics. I really like the pink and grey colour, somehow the grey colour looks like violet. But finally I choose the grey one because I'm afraid that the pink will look unnatural on my eyes ._.

This is my first time using 19.5 mm lens. The biggest lens I ever used is just 15 mm from Geo Cafe series. I thought hard before buying this. Haha.. I'm afraid that it will not comfortable on my eyes and because of it's so big, I'm afraid it will hurt my eyes. But how can I know if I never try it right? So yeahh I finally bought it and I'm not disapointed with it :D

Because the pattern couldn't be seen clearly on the blister, I just take a pic of it in the lens case. The pattern s very lovely right? It's similar with flower, and it's so purple there. For your information, it's a 4 tone lens. :)

Enlargement (7/10):
It's big. You can see the difference between the one using and not. It's big but it doesn't give that dolly look, unlike other lens that I have that basically support dolly look.

Pattern (10/10)
As I said before, the pattern is very pretty. It looks like flower and the outer black ring is unique :D

Colour (9/10):
The colour looks like a mix of grey and violet, but mostly you will see it as grey :D But from the pic above, under sunlight, I think it looks like violet colour. :3

Comfort (7/10):
The lens is very thin and I almost feel like I'm not wearing lens xD But sometimes it feels so dry after 3 hours so I have to use eye drops several times. But on the other day, it feels just fine even when I'm wearing it until more than 8 hours. ._.

Overall, I love this lens. This is my first grey lens and it still look quite natural on me. This is also my first time trying 19.5 mm and surprisingly, it's still comfortable enough, making me don't afraid to try other big lens out there :D. When I'm bored with brown lens, I will use this lens. For now and future (maybe for around 1 month later) I will use this time everytime I will hang out with my friends :D

I bought this from Tomato Online Shop.. The seller is very nice in answering all of my questions and they have different promotion each month. :3

And this is my FOTD two days ago wearing Pandora lens ^^

Thanx for reading and see you on my next post (^0^)/

Bronzer

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder Review

Rabu, Agustus 22, 2012

I was looking for something good for shading or contouring, I prefer it to be not expensive, because it's just for learning shading. I got Etude House Aloha V Line Slim Maker that is also good for contouring but yes, I want another one. And this Nyc Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny seems like a good option. Thanx to Reine Doll Shop for recommending it to me. :)

Description (taken from www.newyorkcolor.com):
Let a little sunshine into your life for cheap, with NYC New York Color Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder. It glides on easily for sheer bronze glow that looks like you just stepped off the beach. It is easy to use everywhere and is perfect for quick touch-ups throughout the day.

Benefits:
  • Sun-kissed yet natural look year round without the damaging effects of the sun
  • Glides easily for sheer effect
  • Adds a tanned look in seconds
  • Can be worn alone or over makeup
  • Dermatologist tested
Key Ingredients:
  • A blend of micronized pigments and silica for smooth application
  • Kaolin to minimize pores and lines
  • Natural mineral powders

It is only available in one color: Sunny. It comes in a brown packaging, just like pact packaging. Thanx God it doesn't look cheap.

Sometimes it is so hard to open and close. -,- But okay because of the price, I couldn't expect too much. :|

But soon as I opened the bronzer and saw the sponge, I was disappointed with it. The quality is really bad and it looks dirty, even when I haven't used it at all. It's too thin also. So I throw it right away because I don't think I will ever use the bronzer using it -_-".

The bronzer comes with a cute design just like its name: sun. It is a matte bronzer and the colour is really sheer. Fortunately, it's not chalky at all so it is fine to swipe my brush over and over again. I'm using Masami Shouko Angled Brush or Sigma F40 to apply this bronzer.

Swatch on my hand. I swipe it for around 5 times so the colour can be seen on pic ._.

Same goes to these pics. I have to swipe it more than two times so that the colour could be seen on the pics. In real life, it looks so unnatural :| But it's okay since I just want to show you the colour. You don't have to be afraid that the colour will be too much on your face because it is really really sheer. Sometimes I get angry because after I apply it for two times, I still can't see the colour on my face. Hahaha.. But yes, it has its positive and negative side, depending on how you want to look at it :p

What I like:
  • matte bronzer
  • sheer colour but still buildable
  • relatively cheap
What I dislike:
  • the sponge is suck -,-

Rating: 3,5 out of 5.

If you want to try something for contouring with affordable price, this one is a must try item. You can buy it from Reine Doll Shop, it sells so many USA drugstore cosmetics, ready stock for Indonesia residence. ^^

See you later :D

Tony Moly Backstage Oh My Lips Review

Rabu, Agustus 22, 2012

Remember this kind of packaging from Tony Moly? Yes, you're correct. It reminds you of their famous backstage gel eyeliner, right? This is from the backstage family too (lol i name it myself, the 'backstage' family xD): Backstage Oh My Lips ^^ It comes in 4 colours to choose: Dash Red, Shy Pink, Crazy Orange, and Mystery Plum. I choose the most calm colour: Mystery Plum but seems like I was wrong :|

The packaging is similar with Backstage Gel Eyeliner. Black glossy packaging with brush attached on it. But Backstage Gel Eyeliner is taller than this Oh My Lips. :)

Description from its website:
Jojoba Oil Similar structure with human's sebum, excellent absorption, well suited for any skin type, moisturizing, soften skin without stickiness. Sweet Almond Oil ease itching, specially for dry skin, recobers tired skin to soften lip balm and tint combined lip brush container. Delivers moist lips anytime. Menthol ingredients gives cool feelings and plumping effect. More natural and vivid colour as time goes on. 4 color option. Lip brush included.

Usage: Using brush, gently apply from the center of the lips. The color goes deeper as you repeat applying.

Written in Hangeul:
Tony Moly
Backstage Oh! My Lips
04 Mystery Plum

You know, for all this time, I thought it was a lip gloss. Щ(ºДºЩ) I just found out that it is actually a tinted lip balm when I was searching for the description just now on their website. -_-" Haha.. This kind of thing could happen when you bought the product just because of the packaging, not because you need it :p

The texture of the lip balm is like gel. I really wanna grab the lip part, the pink lip part on the middle, but I couldn't reach it because of the white gel surrounding it. ._. The lip part is just too cute, how can Tony Moly think of this kind of packaging? >.< The Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub is also comes in lip packaging right? Aaaaaaa..

Closer look to the brush. The handle is too short in my opinion, I like longer brush to make it more comfortable when I use it. The bristles is soft but because of the gel texture of the lip balm, I find it a little bit difficult to set the lip balm to the brush and then apply it to my lips. That's why you can see from the pic above that the lip balm is kinda messy ._.

Let's see the swatch on my lip :)
before

after

Soon as I apply it to my lips, I can feel the cooling sensation, probably because of the menthol ingredients. It moistures my lips for about two hours. Although it's a tinted lip balm, it will soon fade away after I eat something. I thought it will last longer, just like lip tint, but unfortunately it doesn't. It's not too glossy but still has little glossy effect. I can feel cherry flavour on my lips when I use it :D

The colour is not as soft as what I have expected. I'm a big fan of pink colour so from the colour chart pic, I thought it would be pink colour. But it's neither soft pink nor red, maybe it's just like its name: plum colour. And yes the colour goes more vivid if you apply it more than one times. :)

What I like:
  • Cute packaging
  • Moisturize my lips
  • Makes my lips look healthier because of its colour
  • Cooling sensation
What I dislike:
  • Because of the gel texture, it will be a little bit messy when taking the products with the attached brush
  • The brush handle is too short
Rating: 3,5 out of 5.

Have you tried this cute tinted lip balm? ^^

Coastal Scents

Coastal Scents Divine Line "Raven" Gel Eyeliner Review

Senin, Agustus 20, 2012

Hello everybody.. Anybody miss me? :p Well I couldn't blog these days because it's super busy in the office and when I went home, all I wanna do was just lay down and watch drama ._. But now I'm back \(^0^) I promised to myself that i will blog more often, especially during this holiday, to cover my absence this past few weeks. ^^

So what's on my review list today? It's gel eyeliner from Coastal Scents, called Divine Line. I bought black colour (Raven) when it's on sale. There's no special reason why I bought it, it's just because my Tony Moly backstage gel eyeliner will soon run out.

It comes in this kind of box, smaller on top and bigger on bottom so to take out the gel eyeliner, I do it from bottom.

The packaging of the eyeliner is simple, just like other gel eyeliner out there imo (and exactly the same like my Holika Holika Melomovie Gel Eyeliner, except for the packaging colour :p). The word "Divine Line" is printed there and also "www.coastalscents.com" on the other side.

That is the ingredients of the gel eyeliner and it's made in USA :)

That's the brush that comes along with the gel eyeliner. The quality is fine, soft and a bit pointy at the end to make it easier for us to draw thin line. But yeah I think it can't be as thin as using pen eyeliner.

Swatches on my hand. From just one swipe to four of five swipes.. hahaha.. The colour is pure black, there is no any shimmer or glitter which is good :D And I think the colourpayoff is good too, although it's not that black for one swipe, but I never use just once swipe, at least I need two or three swipes so it's okay :D

I tried to rub it a few times and you can see that the upper line smudge. Well, it's because that line is the last line I drew and it's not completely dry when I rub it so it smudged. But it look just fine right with the other line? So don't rub it when it isn't completely dry if you don't want any smudge. Besides that, I can tell it's smudgeproof. :)

After that, I placed my hand under running water from the tap. Then, I rub it again. But yes, it's still there. You can see that there's nothing difference between this pic and pic before this one, except for the water. :p So it's waterproof :D

One point that sometimes become a minus point for me is that it dries fast and makes my brush harden. So before I finished drawing the line, the brush already getting hard and I need to use other brush. -,- Uhmm, I think it's like that after 5 or more minutes. Because I am doing makeup in the car and it makes me slower to draw eyeline with it so yeah, I have to prepare two brush when I want to use this at car or when I want to draw cat eyes (drawing cat eyes takes more time for me than usual eye line). Other than that, I don't have any problems with this gel eyeliner.

What I like:
  • solid black colour
  • nice colour payoff
  • comes with its own brush that makes it ideal for travelling
  • smudgeproof and waterproof
What I dislike:
  • it dries fast that makes my brush harden before I finish drawing line
Rating: 4 out of 5

Repurchase or not: No, I prefer Korean brand :p
