Skin Food Tomato Whitening Spot Serum Review

Senin, Juli 23, 2012

Who has problem with reducing acne scars? If yes, then you are the same with me. After the acne is gone, we can breath happily if there is no scars left. But what if there is any scars left? Maybe you won't be confident to left house without any make up or your face won't look flawless. That's why I've been searching for whitening product. Since I've tried Etude House Red Spot Balm and experienced nothing good about it, I decided to try this Skin Food Tomato Whitening Spot Serum. :)

Tomato Whitening series is of course for whitening effect. The complete series: toner, emulsion, cream, serum, and spot serum. Because I want to focus on acne spots, I prefer spot serum to serum. Packaged in this long tiny tube, as usual it has that Skin Food's classic vintage style which I like. It contains 30ml serum which I afraid will run out in no time. ._.

Decription (from website):
This skin-brightening spot serum containing arbutin and tomato extract rich in lycopene, vitamins, and minerals makes dull skin clear and blemish-free and improves skin tone, with its moist texture.

To use: After toner, apply to areas in need of whitening skin care, and pat gently to absorb.

*I wonder why the description from the website always a little bit different with the decription from the back of the packaging* ( ´

This is my first try for Tomato Whitening series. Usually I don't use any whitening products because I don't think I really need that, my main focus is to minimize pore or reduce acne. Besides, I read that Tomato Whitening series is more suitable for dry skin rather than oily skin (mine is oily combination).

The colour of the spot serum is milky white and the texture is a little bit thick. It has a nice scent, but I don't think it's a tomato scent :p But the scent is very nice that makes me want to have its toner and emulsion also. Hahaha.. XD

I use it every night, after using toner. I just pat it to the problem areas, pat pat it and wait for a few minutes until it get fully absorbed before using emulsion. I have used it for around three months and it still haven't ran out. Hahaha.. Turns out my prediction about it will run out soon is wrong :p

The first and second week I used it, I always checked my scar areas just to see have they disappeared or not. But i see nothing difference with it. Hahaha ( ̄へ ̄) I started to think that this is just the waste of time and money, how can I expect it will reduce my acne scars? -_-" But because it will be more waste if I don't use it until its last drop, that's why I keep using it until now.

And now I can see that it really does its job! I won't notice it if I didn't take photos of my cheek for concealer reviews. Still remember about my Etude House Surprise Stick and Essence Concealer review? There is a gap about two months between each post and I can see that there is a difference between those two photos and now when I'm looking at the mirror. :p My acne scars and redness are mostly reduced but it takes time for this serum to work. So you have to be patient if you want to see its effect.

What I like:

  • Nice scent
  • Quickly absorbed into my skin without leaving any greasy feeling
  • Help to reduce redness and acne scars
  • Affordable price (around Rp 120.000-130.000, I bought it at Rie Butik)
  • Will last long for me, maybe around 5 to 6 months.
What I dislike:
  • It takes time to see the effect (more than 1 month)
Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Will I repurchase? Yes but I'm also thinking to buy Innisfree Jejubija Anti Trouble Spot Essence. Let us see what I will buy later :p

Thanks for reading and have a nice day ^^

SOLUSIMU Disposable Paper Toilet Seat Cover Review

Senin, Juli 23, 2012

Hi all.. It's been a week since my last post.. I don't have any mood to write any post last week.. All I wanna do is just watching Korean drama.. Hahaha.. Recently I am watching A Gentleman's Dignity, Bridal Mask (Gaksital) and Time Slip Dr Jin. A Gentleman's Dignity is a romantic comedy drama, Bridal Mask is historical action drama. I'm in love with AGD because of the story and the actor and actress.. <3 But this week I have rewatched The Moon that Embraces The Sun and Secret Garden, both are my favourites.

So to start this week, I am ready to share new review for you. (^O^)/ All of us use public toilet, don't we? And sometimes we feel disgusting, seeing that the toilet seat is full with shoe print or wet because of water or whatever it is. ( ̄へ ̄)But what can we do if we really need to use it despite of the condition of the toilet? We will just use toilet tissue to cover the seat and that is not practical. Besides there is environmental issue by using too much tissue. But now I have found the solution. I don't have to use toilet tissue anymore, i just need to use paper toilet seat.

Solusimu kindly sent me two travel pack of their disposable paper toilet seat cover. :) Each pack contains 10 sheets of disposable toilet seat covers that keep us safe and protect us from germs in public restroom. Beside this travel pack, they also have other series like commercial package, package 1 metal dispenser, and package 2 plastic dispenser.

The travel pack is really travel friendly because of the small size that will fit to our bag and won't need too much space. The packaging is simple with domination of blue colour.

When I opened the packaging and saw the seat cover, suddenly I remember "kertas minyak". They look just the same. Hahahaha.. xD When I unfolded it, I could see that it's pretty thin, just like the pic above. I think the more thinner it is, the more easier it can be flush into the toilet. Hmmm...
So this illustration shows you how to use the seat cover.. Before unfolded it, you have to disconnect the joints first. For me, I just disconnect half of it, so the other half is still stick to the bigger part. Then just place it to the toilet seat like illustration no. 2. After finished, just flush it to toilet. And you're done. :D

For taking this picture, I will just demonstrate it using my home toilet. It'll be weird if I take photos on public toilet and it will take longer time :p I do as instructed and that is how it looks like. So the toilet seat is a little bit wet when I placed the seat cover. Because it's super thin, it turns out wet pretty fast. -,- So if you don't want to sit in a wet seat cover, it's better to wipe the wet part first with tissue before covering it with seat cover. :)

As for the flushing part, I was a little bit worried. How if after I flushed it to toilet then the toilet is clogged? Not funny right? I thought about it for a moment, there must be a reason why the company tell us to just flush it into toilet. So I just flush it and there's nothing happen, which is good. :D From the letter I received from Solusimu, it's written that: every sheet of Solusimu is 100% biodegradable, which means that every time we flush the sheet after use, biological process will take place to dissolve it without adversely affecting the natural ecosystem. Given these qualities, long-term use of Solusimu Paper Toilet Seat Cover will not cause clogging. Research shows that this paper is in fact four times faster to dissolve in water compared to regular toilet tissue roll. Amazing right? ^^

Seeing how convenient it is to use, I'm pretty much in love with it right now. I don't have to feel afraid everytime I use public toilet anymore because of this disposable paper toilet seat cover. (≧∇≦)

Milani Sheer Color Lipstick "Ambrosia" Review

Minggu, Juli 15, 2012

So I got this surprise when I received my package from Reine Doll Shop. I bought two brushes and one bronzer from her, and she said that she also sent me one lipstick for review purposes. When I opened my package, I could see that it is Milani lipstick. Thank you Reine Doll Shop ^^

The tube looks elegant in gold colour. The cap is transparent plastic though, that will make us easy to see the lipstick colour from above. The cap is really tight so you won't have to worry it will open when you put it on bag or make-up pouch. :)

I got no. 13 "Ambrosia".

When I first opened the cap and see the colour: omo, so finally I own red lipstick? I can see it's so shimmery!

But actually I was wrong. It's not pure red colour. :p When I swatched it on my hand, I could see that it's more to coral orange colour with lots of shimmery on it.

bare lips

using two layers of Ambrosia

I could smell sweet vanilla scent when applying this lipstick on my lips. It's a nice scent that makes me wanna lick my lips :p But I find it a little bit difficult to apply on my bare lips. It's not that smooth, maybe because of my dry lips condition. So the next time I applied it, I apply lip balm first to get smoother application of this sheer lipstick. We can build the intensity of the colour. With just one layer, it shows up nicely, not too much but quite enough to tell that I'm using lipstick because of its orange shimmery colour. With two layer just like the pic above, the colour is more intense and perfect for this summer look. :D And when I want more natural colour, I just tap tap it on my inner part lips, just like how I use lip tint. ^^ It can last up to two hours without making my lips dry and it will fade away after drinking or eating.

What I like:
  • Sweet vanilla scent
  • Nice orange colour
  • Doesn't make my lips dry
  • Buildable colour (don't afraid of the word 'sheer')
What I dislike:
  • too much shimmery
  • the texture isn't creamy enough
Rating: 3,5 out of 5

If you want to try this lipstick, you can buy it on Reine Doll Shop. They provides so many ready stock of popular drugstore brand with affordable price and sometimes they have interesting promo. :)

Notes: This lipstick was sent to me for review purpose but all of my opinions are honest and based on my own experiences of using it.

Foot

Tony Moly Peppermint Foot Mask Review

Sabtu, Juli 14, 2012

Since I knew about foot mask and hand mask, I always want to try it out so when I see it available on Tony Moly store, I buy the foot mask, thinking to give my foot more treatment. :)

Description (from Tony Moly's website):
Special foot mask containing fresh peppermint extract for a refreshing and moisturizing effect. Extracts from Rosemary and Lavender further soothe and relaxes the easily sore and tired foot.

Directions:
Wear the socks over perfectly cleansed foot and leave it on for about 20mins before rinsing it away. Recommended to use 2-3 times a week for best result.

Soon after the sheet was opened, I could smell peppermint scent that is fresh. The mask is folded to fit the sheet so when I unfolded it, it becomes big as shown on pic above. The shape is so strange hahaha.. But that's because I haven't part them into two. From the illustration on the back of the sheet, I know that I must part it into two so that there is a hole in each part and you can place your foot inside :D

When you put your foot inside the mask, it's really like you are wearing socks, to be exact wet plastic socks. Hahaha.. The mask has two layers (i'm sorry i forgot to take a pic of it), one layer is the outer part and one more is the inside and it's wet because of the essence. The mask is quite big so don't worry it won't cover your foot well. :) I have to stay calm for 30 minutes, that means not too much moving here and there because it's hard to walk with the mask covering your feet like that, besides I afraid if I walked, it will effect the absorption of the mask. LOL :p So I just sit and lay my feet straight while watching on my laptop. :) I don't like the sound of the plastic if I make too much movement. ._.

So after around 30 minutes, I took the socks off. I gently massaged the remaining essence on my feet. Usually my feet is dry, so as my other parts of body T.T, but after using this mask, I can see its result. My feet looks not that dry anymore :D I believe that if I use this regularly and always apply foot cream after washing my feet, its condition can be better day by day. I'm so happy that this mask can improve my feet condition. The peppermint scent also makes me feel relaxed. \(^0^)/

What I like:
  • practical
  • moisturize my feet
  • nice relaxing peppermint scent
  • affordable price
What I dislike:
  • I have to not move around when using it ._.
  • the plastic sound kinda annoying, that's why I prefer stay still in the place
Rating: 4 out of 5

Repurchase: Sure!

Event

Lux "Magical Spell" Blogger Gathering Event

Sabtu, Juli 14, 2012

Yeay. Seneng banget. Ini pertama kalinya aku ikut Perfume Workshop. :DD

Mba Teti Meltiany selaku perwakilan Givaudan memberikan penjelasan mengenai wewangian.

Wanginya calm banget, enak nyiumnya. Katanya sih orang Indo memang paling suka wangi musk. :3

Summary dari struktur wewangian (source: slide PPT Mba Teti):
  • Top note: citrus, herbal, aldehydes, green, marine, fruity
  • Middle note: floral, spicy, woods, leather
  • Base note: animal, musk, amber, sweet & powdery

Ada juga hadiah doorprize sama best dresscode. Siapakah yang menang? Best dresscode dimenangin Aini :D Dia cantik banget sihh dengan dress ungunyaaa >.< Sedangkan doorprize dimenangkan Shella. ^^

Acara berikutnya adalah makan-makan. xD

Makanannya menggoda yaaa?

XD

Pas dibuka di rumah ternyata isinya ada sabun Magical Spell, mini perfumenya, sama flashdisk berbentuk seperti bandul. So special yaa.. Sedangkan flashdisknya huaaa.. Seneng dapat flashdisk berbentuk bandul gini. Kelihatan mewah dan ga pasaran. ^^

Thank you Lux buat acara blogger gatheringnya. I was having so much fun with my blogger friends, bertambah pengetahuan juga soal wewangian. Thank you \(^0^)/

Etude House

Etude House Lash Perm Eye-long Mascara Review

Kamis, Juli 12, 2012

Another mascara review. Yeay! So this one is one of the newest mascara from Etude House. I bought this out of curiousity because of the result it claimed and the pretty packaging (as always :p).

Lash Perm Mascara comes in two types: volume and eye-long. Since i'm more interested in getting curly lash that would stay the same until I remove it with make up remover, I choose eye-long type.

Description:
Etude House Lash Perm Mascara
Volume: 10gr

Eye-long
  • Long mascara, long & curling effect, gives lashes a perm-looking feel.
  • Natural gum gives a long lash effect and memory curling component that gives long last curls.
  • Doesn't smudge easily and keeps eyes looking fresh and clean, free from make up smudges.
  • Can be easily removed with lukewarm water.
How to use: Apply lashes in a zigzag motion.

If you have ever seen or owned Proof 10 Mascara before, then you can see that the packaging is pretty much the same. Black packaging with purple girly text there.

This is how the wand looks like.

So let's see some of the before and after pics below :)

I've been really curious about the memory curling component since I read it. Can it hold the curl? And if it can, for how long will it stay? So I use this mascara everyday when I go to office. Sometimes when I have a break, I will see the mirror to look at my lashes, is it still curl? :p And I can say that I'm quite satisfied with it. It can hold the curl from morning until evening, hmm around 8 a.m to 5 p.m. :D It looks really natural, not dramatic look. Well, I just put one or two coat on my lashes though. :) I use it on my lower lashes too. The wand applicator makes it easy to coat on my lower lashes. And it's easy to remove. I just use eye and lip make-up remover or when I'm lazy, I will just use Biore Cleansing Sheet. :D But it would be a little bit messy at the end of the wand because of the liquid that stick on it, so I like to remove the excess liquid on the opening of the tube. ._.

What I like:
  • lengthen and curl my lashes
  • smudgeproof and waterproof
  • can be use on my lower lashes
  • easy to remove
  • doesn't clump
What I dislike:
  • a little bit messy at the end of the wand
Rating : 4 out of 5. I think this mascara is nice but still not nice enough to be my HG mascara. I'm still searching for mascara that will fulfill my needs: (lengthen, curl, and volumize) :p I really wanna try Majolica Majorca mascara since I heard so many good reviews about it. Hope I could buy it soon from Sasa.com >.<

Btw. I'm joining this giveaway from Indian Vanity Case. It's a giveaway to celebrate 3rd year blog anniversary.

The giveaway open worldwide and ended on August 20th. Just click the image to go to her blog. :)

So what's your favourite mascara dear? ^^

Sponge

Volcanic Stone Facial Sponge Review

Selasa, Juli 10, 2012

Who loves facial sponge here? Raise your hand! :D

At first, I thought facial sponge is not so important. It means I don't really need to have it. But after I read good reviews from other bloggers, I thought I want to give it a try.

I bought it at Children's Store at Pacific Place because it's near from my office. I bought the Volcanic Stone type, since it's in pink colour :3

There are facial sponge and body sponge. There are 4 types of facial sponge: moon original, volcanic stone, moon korean ocher, and bamboo charcoal.

Description from their website:
Perfectly represented by its pinkish colour, Volcanic Stone is the sponge that you want to use when you feel that you have many layers of dead skin to exfoliate. Layers of dead skin make your skin look dull and darker than your actual tone.

This pinkish sponge is naturally made of 100% pure vegetable fiber enriched with drops of volcanic stone that could biologically absorb excess oil on your skin as you scrub the dirts off the skin; perfect for teen skin. Processed without any coloring and addictive, this sponge is also suitable for those with hypersensitive skin.

About the konjac itself, it is a plant sometimes known as Konnyaku. The Japanese have been eating Konjac for over 1,500 years. 99% of Konjac is water and three percent is Glucomannan, or dietary fiber. It is also rich in minerals and very low in calories. For over a century, the Japanese have been using the "Konjac" vegetable as a beauty treatment for their delicate skin.

Besides, their factory is in Jeju Island ( I wish I can visit it in a next few years >.<). The island contains the natural World Heritage Site Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes. This means that due to its amazing volcanic rock structure and its outstanding beauty it has world recognition and protection. It's reputed to have some of the cleanest and purest water in the world. So pure that the water is bottled and sold to drink.

See how unique it is from the description?

When I first opened the plastic, I can feel the sponge was a bit damp. Not really dry like the pic below. The sponge come with a pointy end that makes it easier to reach corner of nose or lips. :D

After use, remember to always hang it in a well-ventilated area to let it dry. When it is completely dry like the pic above, it becomes as hard as stone ._. When you want to use it, just put it in the water again. It will back to its damp condition and elastic :3

I have tried it with or without cleanser. It's up to you how do you want to use it. Just remember to clean your make up first before using the sponge because you can't expect all the make-up can be removed just by using this sponge alone. :|
So far I still like to use it after I use facial foam. I fell uncomplete if I don't use any facial foam :p So after I clean my face with facial foam, I use the sponge. Rub it all over my face for a few minutes then it's done. I like how it feels on my face, it's so soft and won't hurt my face at all. ^^ I use it every morning and night. Now it's become one of my cleansing routine.

What I really like about using this pinkish sponge is that I can really see the difference on the corner of my nose. Usually there were so many whiteheads there and no matter how I tried to remove them, either by scrub, gommage, or whatever it is, they were still the same. But, I can see the difference after I use this sponge, the whitehead have reduced! This is a big yeay for me xD My nose looks cleaner now without those disgusting whitehead. \(^0^)/ I can see my acne scars also lessen. Maybe it really exfoliates my dead skin well, plus skin care that I use to reduce the acne scars.

So far, I really love this sponge and wanna try other variants. So when My Konjac Sponge did bazaar at Central Park Mall, I bought Bamboo Charcoal sponge and 6 wave sponge for only Rp 120.000 (they did have promotion on that time :D ). One sponge can last up to 6 months but replace it once it starts to break down or looks tired. :)

If you are interested with this sponge, make sure to check out their website , facebook or twitter
Moon Original Rp 59.000. Korean Ocher, Volcanic Stone, and Bamboo Charcoal Rp 65.000. 6 wave facial body sponge Rp 65.000. Recently they have reached Singapore, Phillipines, USA and Canada too, for more information just follow their twitter or email to [email protected] :)

Have you tried this awesome sponge? ^^

Bourjois

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation No.52 Review

Selasa, Juli 10, 2012

It's been a long time I haven't used or buy foundation again. Simply because I think when I put on foundation, it just like i was wearing a mask :| So I am using BB cream to replace foundation and happy with it. But now after I thinking about it, sometimes I'm not satisfied with the coverage of BB cream. Most of BB cream has light to medium coverage. And sometimes I need better than that if I want to go to party or other important occassion. So I was ending up buying Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation when I went to Sogo Emporium Mall one and half month ago, hoping that it would give me the result that I want. So how is it? Does it satisfied me? Read more to find out. :)

Description (from www.bourjois.co.uk)
Give your skin a radiance boost with Bourjois' Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation - made from a vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula for an even complexion and an instant anti-fatigue result!

Its fresh and instant blending gel texture blends and glides onto the skin for an even, natural finish with no mask effect. Imperfections are erased, signs of fatigue are smoothed and the skin's radiance is boosted for up to 16 hours.

Made from an instant anti-fatigue vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula with litchi, goji berries and pomegranates.

Available in 6 radiance-boosting shades.

This is the first time I tried Bourjois products. Their counter at Sogo or Centro always attract me but I'm too lazy to take a closer look at it. But finally I made my way to their counter and the BA suggested me to try Healthy Mix Serum gel foundation. It's Rp 235.000 for 30ml. A little bit pricey but yeahh I will try it.

Healthy Mix Serum foundation comes in a glass bottle and pump type so it will be less messy. Actually I don't think it's a gel type foundation. Isn't gel supposed to be elastic or something like that? ._. I think the texture is liquid type.

I apply it sometimes using Etude House Baby Doll sponge and sometimes just using finger. It blends easily and gives a dewy look. The coverage is light to medium. I try to apply one or two more layer to area where the redness shown up but still you can still see the redness, but not too obvious. So you will need to use concealer again on top of the foundation if you want more coverage.

I like the scent. It's a nice scent and will disappear after few moment you applied it. What I don't like about the foundation is if you have dry patches on your face, it will look obvious :| (you can click the pic above and see the right side pic). I have combination skin and sometimes my skin is dry on area where there is acne. Maybe it's because of the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask that I use to heal acne but I'm still not sure about it.

And also this foundation makes me break out :(. After two days of using it for the first time, I realised there are two big pimples appeared on my left cheek and under my lips :(. I still don't believe it's because of the foundation because despite of the dry patches that is obvious, I like how my face looks dewy with it. So after my pimples have gone (what left is the scar :( ), I tried to use it again for three days. And the same thing happened! This time I had several small acnes in my left cheek. Huaa.. So sad.. Seems like this foundation is not suitable for me so it's better to back to my Lioele Triple Solution BB Cream for daily use.

What I like:
  • small slim packaging
  • nice scent
  • dewy look
What I dislike:
  • makes me break out :(
  • makes dry patches on my face obvious if you look it from nearby
  • quite pricey for drugstore brand
Rating: 3 out of 5.

So what's your favorite foundation? Please share with me in the comment box below because I'm in search of good coverage foundation. Thanx for reading ^^
